VALUES OF A TRUE CRAFTSMAN

We live in a fast moving world that is too busy to think, largely automated, slowly losing the value of quality in a product.  True artisans are about knowledge, knowledge gained from decades of real hands on experience doing something they are truly passionate about.  Understanding the different types of shoe construction, the different steps involved in the shoemaking process and an acute understanding of the different types of leather and how these materials can be worked, prepared and finished.  Knowledge is the only thing which grows when shared.

VALUE OF QUALITY MATERIALS

Materials are rarely born to to be used in the way that artisans wish to manipulate them and shoes are the one piece of attire that are made from something that was once alive, yet, are asked to withstand years of punishing abuse.  Materials play a huge role in Italian shoes and leather, the only ingredient used, is a thing of perfection and beauty.  The quality of our calf leathers are testiment to the careful sourcing of individually selected hides and the choice of type, texture and colour are quite simply second to none.  Italian heritage leather has stood the test of time over centuries of shoemaking.
